Had an interesting day. Went out to eat, and went over to Thomp to play games, and maybe hottub. Weather was being weatherlike, after all.
Bought a really pretty orange and black bracelet and celtic star necklace from sydb42 and darkwolf :)

Got to hang out with Kisa, Dubheach, B, Peterbeerslayer, T, and the kids - with Nez, Foxwit and myself.

Played Pit, Facts in Five, and I bowed out of the Dominion games. Peter was playing some Flogging Molly and I relaxed in a chair with a nearby kitty. Later, after eating a group of us got in the hot tub and soaked, watching the lightning playing overhead. The few cool drops that hit were really nice and cool.

B, Kisa, Dubheach, Nez, Foxwit and myself were out and I had a lot of fun out of the soak. Got to meet Pixel outside which is colored a lot like Reinheart - wonder if they are related?

Anyway, had a really nice time :) Nez stayed overnight and Foxwit and I went home...after all, the kitties cannot do without us :)

autopiloting

Thursday night Foxwit went with friends over to the Dennys across the river and asked me to meet him there after work.

I'm driving home from work. I don't do a whole lot of driving, but a lot of it is very autopiloted.

I get to my normal exit to turn, and all my instincts start going haywire. It keeps saying...wrong, wrong, wrong...you're going the wrong way. This feels so very odd to me. I get across the river and take the wrong exit - I'm never sure which exit to take Lewis and Clark, or Veterans.

Anyway, when I finally get there, I'm almost twitching. Am I weird?

Feeling bleah. Getting more energy, except when the weather goes from 33 to 60 - yo yoing. My sinuses think this is a bad idea. Silly sinuses.

Catching up a bit on sleep has helped a bit. Work is trying to uptrain me further - which surprises me - I cannot reach my time goal right now. Dealing with drama there - boyfriend storms out, sup asks if he wants to quit he says yes. He then later calls back saying "I want my job back". Girlfriend is at the point of tears, where another sup steps in and gies her time off the phones. Sup has also given up alcohol for Lent. Fun times.

Working on Rolemaster character. Trying to, anyway. I really don't like 10 page character sheets. Sigh. Foxwit is helping.

Didn't win the giant tv. Sigh. I guess I will try for the Wii for this month, even though I don't need it.

Cats are safely away from toes. I got them food. I will not wake to missing toes, which is a good thing :)

Need to clean up some. Nez is bringing in a date on Saturday he met off ok cupid. I know very little - don't know how things will go. He's taking her out to dinner on Sat. Honestly, he needs to do somne more cleaning up as well.

Hopefully we can celebrate our anniversary sometime soon. It was February 19th, but he was sick that weekend, and had other plans for this weekend.

I like some structure to my life sometimes. I blame the cats for messing things up. Meow.

Off to bed. Hopefully the nightmares will stop soon,. Dreaming of being at work, dreaming of the end of the world....not good things.

And it keeps getting better all the time....

Today over 50 people did not show to work.

I understand. My power went out at 5 am. I had no sleep. I kept hearing the shotgun blasts of tree limbs breaking and cars crushing and shattering through the rain covered slush, snow and ice. Sigh. At least Foxwit and I suspected it would happen and had our cells set as alarm clocks- handy lil' things, cell phones.

So: The tally:

No Power.....okay, can cope
Hot Water...goood
Stove...okay
Oven - nope - doesn't work without power
Oil Lamps - have oil and wicks, both hurricane globes have been shattered -
problematical with cats
Heat - no heat - electric thermostat...bad
candles- running low. Picked up more, and aaa batteries. Cannot find any lanterns for sale
blankets- yep, and sleeping bags as well.
water - leaving running in the tub - the cats like that at least
basement - freezing and dark - hard to find work clothes between shivering and candle
(even in daylight)

I already know my sole purpose in life for the next week (when not here at work) - heat for the cats. And food.

Work is running off generators, and they have it set way too high for the heat. The moment you step outside, the lungs shudder. We got pizza though. Yay pizza. Constant queue - had to keep apologizing about the wait, and explained we were without power for half the city. Spoke to three companies in a row who had the same issue- and, where was there other office. Why here, of course! It made me laugh :)

Gotta laugh and smile somehow right? I cannot leave the cats alone, though I have had offers if we get too cold. I'll survive. Been taking pics. Of course, cannot download them...

Anyone want an ice sculpture of a kitsune?

I drove, for the first time, in what I consider hazardous conditions. It has been snowing and raining last night and everything was coated in a shell of slippery icy ickyness. I was left the car, since D. and Foxwit were carpooling this morning. I have never driven on ice before. I have a Kia Rio.

Waking up stressed from a bunch of factors, including little sleep - I am tired of nightmares btw- I prepared to go to work, adding what I thought were gloves, scarf and hat. Merseine's snowflake pin, Awfulhorrid's fox pin, and a red fox necklace for luck. Figured I'd need it.

After ransacking the car for 15 minutes I find the scraper - and those weren't gloves, they were chenille socks. *shrug* they covered my hands and I began to sculpt myself a blue car - whether it was blue before the cold...well, maybe. But it was cold. Took 7 minutes to get it on the road. Drove very slowly. I had received some driving tips from Awfulhorrid before attempting the streets. They probably saved my car, if not me some injuries.

I was coming off 264 on the Shelbyville Road Exit to go to work. The car went out of control. There was already a pickup truck and another car skidded below. I was not going fast at all - it just skidded. I fought the car so it would not hit the other car and pointed her nose at the wall. I missed the car by a foot. I missed the wall by 2 inches. The nice man with the pickup just pulled the other car away from the wall - she did hit, though it looked to be minor. I was able to back up and get back on the road. And crawled to work, shaking and at the point of tears.

I came in and gave Foxwit the keys, and he could tell I was badly shaken. I could have taken overtime that morning, but I was still too wound up. Sent an email to Awfulhorrid to let him know I arrived, and went downstairs to see if he was on Gmail. I chatted with him a little and went to work. I needed to wind down.

They were offering a half occurrence relief for working a while shift and 4 hrs overtime. I just worked 1. The rest of the center has that offer for tomorrow as well, but apparently CB doesn't - since 37 people called in, it ruined it for us. We're a different department, budget .. yadayada. even DOS, which is technically Rochester got it. I hope they change their mind. I don't want penalized for showing up and doing my job. I shouldn't expect anything extra, but it doesn't seem fair.

sigh.

Ice is everywhere. You can hear limbs snapping. Power flickers. Lines and trees are limned in ice. Beautiful, but dangerous. I'll still go to work tomorrow. The rain is still falling on the slush ice and snow. The temperature is supposed to drop and freeze this solid.

I also need some help. I am overreacting and overanalyzing stuff, to the point of having arguments with people I love, and I would appreciate some suggestions. Stress from health and work environment are adding to this, as well as lack of sleep. Oh, and slippery roads... Any tips here - relaxing, calming, experiences that might help me mellow out?

Besides petting a cat. I already do that.

Thanksgiving work. Woo hoo. Holiday pay plus time and a half. Free lunch I took home. 3-7 PM. Ate golden corral for lunch.

I logged in at 4. I didn't get a call up to 3:57. At that point I found out they were offering OOSA (out of seat activity) so I took that for 2 hrs- hanging up snowflakes over the pod, cutting out paper ones, using paper from the recycling bin. Oh, and playing the Wii. I played against my telephone lead and one of our escalation specialists. Beat them both times. Had a 172 bowling game the second time. I can wii bowl alright...showing up these poor guys. Then I logged back in at 6 and got one call. Not too bad a day for 20 + an hour. The call was a telephone issue, so it took 24 minutes (supposed to be 9 min or less). Oh well.

Got home, ate chicken and rice with broccoli cheese sauce and corn - Foxwit made it and it was yummy.

I'm dreading tomorrow/today. 10 years of retail experience makes me nervous on Black Friday. Their theme,at work of course, is to wear black tomorrow, so I shall. Its not one of my normal outfits, but hey. A retail location down tommorow is a very scary thought, lets put it that way.

Haven't chatted much this week - either he is off google or it looks like he's there and he isn't. Sigh, I knw he has other fires to put out and other people and obligations...but he can help me smile when I have a pain of 6-7 on a 1-10 scale. Luckily its mostly 4-5 right now.

Tues night I considered going to the emergency room since all the pain. I went in to my usual urgent care center - since I don't have a doctor (or dentist) and they said my ears were "perfect". That my tonsils were really infected, He gave me some new medicines- 4 chewable pills per day - amox variant, and a steriod syrup to take every eight hours for 5 days. I have my cell set to wake me at 4:30- am foe the next few days. The nurse asked if I had wisdom teeth removed. I was told by my last dentist I would never have them. I am thinking that perhaps he was wrong. I am waiting the course of these medicines before trying to find a dentist because the steroid says it seriously lowers immune reactions and not to go near anyone with communicable diseases.

That has been my holiday week. Saturday is turkey day for us.

Hoping to make it through tomorrow relatively sane...wish me luck!

Bass Outdoor shop

I went to the Bass Outdoor shop today. It used to be River Falls Mall over in Indiana. Admittedly they had some really cool bows- an archery range as well as a golf driving range. A 2 story waterfall with a fishtank of that size as well. A few streams ran on the bottom floor of three stories. There was a restaurant on top. They pretty much had everything - including a Starbucks. And the arcade was a hunting range, in the style of the old amusement park BB guns that you hit a target and things happpen. The Monkey's band was at least funny.

It still made me sad though.
You see, there were taxidermied animals everywhere. Including foxes. Bears, goats, raccoons, skunks, deer, turkeys, all types of waterfowl, wolves - lots of wolves and deer. Big horn sheep, coyotes, lions, bobcat... and this made me sad.

I don't mind hunting- if you're going to use the animal for food. But this was excessive. You don't get food from most of these.

Its been one of those days....

Go into work - Foxwit is working 9-6 so I am riding in with D. I check my phone for messages. There is one from the Doctor's office. They refused to do my FMLA paperwork since it was only tonsillitus, and that should be reserved for more serious conditions. Like talking in a call center of 500 people, barely able to speak? I guess that wasn't important.

This may mess up my vacation plans. I am going to try and talk to HR tomorrow to see if there is a way to salvage them since they could take away my vacation planned in December, for Yule. Since I had no sick time left, they go to vacation automatically.

Then, my Vista's hard drive crashed. I had to run back and forth for 30 minutes doing an IT ticket and doing tests on it. So I sat away from my team as well.

They have me troubleshooting Telephone. I did residential a year and a half ago, when they outsourced the department. Business is different. They don't want me to transfer calls. But mt telephone mentors are all off on Tuesday. The Lead I asked for help wasn't at his desk, nor was another one. Someone finally had pity on Elita's team and helped me. Over an hour long call - my time needs to be 9 minutes or less. That's my worst stat.

I was QA'd three times in the last 2 days. Two 100s and 1 95. Still annoyed I missed that 5 point thing for the 95 :P

Tired...long day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

It is a given I do not like the daystar. It burns us, it does. But I saw a lot of it this weekend.

Saturday I got up around 8:30 to go to Saint James. I knew I wouldn't have time later in the week. Nez was awake, just getting off work. Foxwit snored on. So I looked at the pretty, shiny, way way WAY overpriced art. I got two hair snacks - a brass barrette with a glass centerpiece and a piece of birds eye maple barrette for my hair. I got a little striped metal cat for Nez. We ran into Poolsharkone and Pixie, and their kidlets. Also E was there as well. We wandered with them a little while and split up, so we could get to Band J's wedding. I had never been to that part of town before.

The wedding was in a Catholic church, though was written in as a christian wedding. There was a lot of singing and standing. The pastor recommended Leviticus during the sermon as a cure for insomnia, and at one point was doing the love each other and your neighbor speech. Except the way he put it implied Poly. I was rather amused by it. There was a lot of singing (I made a comment about Dr. Brent's horrible singalong blog/wedding). Nez wanted to know why there were chairs if you weren't allowed to sit in them. It was a very nice wedding. We went to the reception, which was also really nice. There were black lights over out table and my shirt was glowing (I wore white shirt, patent belt and shies and a black and blue lace skirt. It glowed nicely :) ). Foxwit wanted to get to the D&D game so I didn't get to dance

Went to the D&D game until midnight. He stayed to watch gamers 2, and I went to bed. I had plans for the morning.

Sunday I was up at 7:30, to be picked up by Dubheach and Poolshark one and assorted kidlets and older kids to go to the Ohio Renaissance faire in Ohio. I drove one car and Dubheach had the younger members. We watched several shows- I don't get the mud show, I guess. The washer wenches got Poolsharkone as one of their victims, and it was cute. My favorites were the Limey Birds, a trio of "sisters" who were a bit man crazy. They could sing and I liked their act. I also liked Saffron Finch, and his balancing act. Jugglineg knives, torches, and making a sandwich with his feet - a woman from the audience ate it too. I got a silver shiny hairsnack twirl and two hairpins to go with it. And a little sunburn, despite the sunblock I applied before leaving the house. not too bad, though.

I drove home, and stopped at THOMP where there were the forbidden Objects. The six...very cute..kittens! I played with them for 15 minutes and went home to the game. I talked to Awfulhorrid on the porch for a half hour, and then went to the Spycraft game.

WEll, that was interesting. We arranged hauntings, holographic ghosts, Foxwit showing as the murdered prince, and dead brother. We had a robotic rat, who did the holograms. We had a frog launcher to arrange our rain of toads and frogs. We had clouds seeded to rain "blood". Chickens were given feed to create red shelled eggs. The person we were trying to get to confess was a voodouon believer. We left a stone axe on the bed as well. We kinda drove him nuts. That was until 11:30pm

Not much sleep, but a very busy weekend.

weekend and up to the day updates

Saturday was an interesting day. I was supposed to get a call from Awfulhorrid in the evening, after their shopping trip and that was pretty much my plans for the day. So I thought...

Nez wanted to celebrate getting a new job. There were payment snafus happening at his old job (owner not being able to pay employees is a very bad sign). He is now going to be working with a security agency and wanted to celebrate. He borrowed the car from Foxwit, since he had to work Saturday - nesting schedules are really chaotic. He was asleep all day, so bored me decided to go to Jefferson mall. I picked up a skeleton from the Halloween store and overpainted it black to age it. It broke, so it now has a peg leg. I need to get an eyepatch to complete the look. Went in Hobby Lobby to get the paint - they have a lot of interesting stuff in there and I bought some cloth to sew with for some curtains. Went to Target and got some static clings I thought were neat - alas, they really do not stick to the walls. At all. Even with tape, in some spots. Sigh. Still, we have a very Halloween house at the moment. I'll have to get pictures when it is completed.

We went to Queen of Sheba, which is now located across from Bowman Field. Ethiopian food. We noticed the traffic was pretty heavy, and discovered that they were having a Balloon Glow at the airport. So, after our food, we crossed the street. By this time, they had started to take down some of the balloons, but there were still many pretty ones. As we were getting ready to leave, they were shooting fireworks over the area. We randomly go to the oddest places to find the unusual :)

I called Awfulhorrid, who was feeling better than when I spoke to him earlier - the dinner was running late due to the restaurant being busy as well as a late start. He also had a few fireworks over his lake, which I jokingly said I sent him. It was a nice feeling sharing something like that. I wish I had my camera, but I didn't know there was going to be a balloon glow- I guess I will have to carry it everywhere from now on...

and yesterday, as I was going home, we saw two deer running across the road along the hills on the edge of the UPS building. Pretty deer. I was a little scared for them - that isn't a safe area, and to cross the road is dangerous. It still was a nice surprise though.

Life...so it goes.

Gee...

Yes, I've been offline for a week. We lost power on Sunday, around 1pm. We regained power tonight around 9PM (Friday). Good thing I'm hurricane trained - I have oil lamps, candles, matches, charcoal, analog phone (cordless do not work without power). We had hot water, and a gas stove, though the stove didn't help for several days. We lost all food in the fridge(s) and freezer. Been living off cereal, a hot meal at lunch - usually McDonalds and snacking on more cereal when getting home. I work until 10 but ride with D. who gets off at 11:30.

Tues and wednesday they gave out food at work - soft pretzels, mac and cheese cups, chips, snacks, drinks. Tues had hamburgers and hotdogs. Popcorn they have been doing all week as well. They also allowed for dressdown all week, which was nice since Sunday night is laundry night. I actually was in pirate garb today, because of talk like a pirate day.

Awfulhorrid checked in with me yesterday and today for a short time, since I wasn't chatting with him anymore (funny how a lack of power can cause that). That helped a lot. I was talking with him Sunday when the hurricane force winds came into Louisville (Cat 1, but still hurricane force - thanks Ike!). I was cleaning out the branches in the road for emergency vehicles.

Foxwit and Nez were having more issues than I - possible from going through a lot of them as a kid helped. I don't really get too hooked to gaming systems or internet. The AC lack was bothering them more than I. The hum that blocked out other sounds is what I missed. A neighbor was running their tv off their car battery so that would start every couple hours all night. People would yell to each other in the dark to talk.

At least there was hot water :)Work had power - besides I know they have generators as well.

O like camping, but they wouldn't allow me to start a fire in here...go figure.

yesterday, had my pelvic exam. Blood drawn. Poked and prodded.

Though I was slightly amused by the look the NP's assistant (female) gave when he said "relax" - easy for him to say. Had my blood tested by glucometer, and urine tested. I guess I have to wait for the results. And then go back and give more tests. If I don't have a stone as per ultrasound, they do another test and then send me to a urologist. Fun....

There was some excitement..an older gentleman came in with chest pains so they had to call 911 and get an ambulance. I guess I don't understand - I would head to a hospital with those... Different people see things differently. Poor man...

I am supposed to get a call tomorrow to schedule an ultrasound to see if I possibly have a kidney stone.

Foxwit's schedule this week is 9-6pm so I have to work a few alternate transportation issues. He's off Sunday and Friday.

Despite being a gloomy day, at least I was productive at work. I have to get 5 people per fiscal month to agree to buy or listen to our spiel on Telephone. I'm up to 6. I also had someone want to buy a 13 pack of static IP addresses - why they needed 8 or more is odd to me, but feel free...If they go through, I have my MRR for the month - I have to raise revenue 30 bucks per month as well. Trying to get my time down on my calls - I am supposed to only have 20 seconds of work after calls (that's hard). My quality assurance scores are high - I can fake perky really well with customers. The good thing is they really cannot curse you out or call you out for that- you aren't swearing, you're not rude, and it sounds like you're genuinely willing to help.

Which, honestly, I am. It's just, on some days when I have been down, I fake cheerful. I don't want to let my coworkers down, or make the company look bad. After awhile though, it isn't really fake anymore. It helps on those gloomy bad days like today - very drizzly and stressy.

And Rileybear sent me a snugs to make me feel better - yay! Someone replied to my post :)

health related )

Eventually they will get to the blood tests, and they are also checking for high blood pressure too. Then hopefully my feet. I am stiff and sore- some is probably stress.

Anyone good at massage? My only candidates here do acupuncture and they aren't too particular wheere they put their needles (aka claws).

Having a rough week. I just don't seem to be getting enough rest or sleep. I seem to put my foot in my mouth when talking to people as well.

I am tired and down. And I know it isn't fair that I am causing others stress by me being around, either in the real world or virtual world.

Trying to cheer up- and I fall. The drizzly weather isn't helping - I know the plants need their water. But it is grey and dismal. I kinda feel like that right now. I want to chat, and my sweetie isn't online. I was quoting some lyrics last night...maybe that did it. Who knows? Maybe it is a meeting....maybe a request of his other sweetie with whom he has plans for this weekend.

Maybe I should eat some brains..yeah, that would help. Then people would be chasing me with chainsaws or machetes... Nah, not worth it.

Sigh. At least I finally got a package sent that I said I was going to send a week ago. I'm sorry its late. Look for it Tuesday, Awfulhorrid.

I got a compliment from a fellow coworker yesterday. I was told I am bubbly and cheerful, and he didn't see how I could do it. I learned, when I first came, that there is little you can do to a person who is cheerful when they are trying to help. They aren't swearing, or being disrespectful, and they're being perky. So I developed that for calls. I fake being cheerful. Sometimes it makes me more cheerful at the end of the day.

I hope it works today. I just found out there is a fantasy league among the ES for talk telephone in business. I have three I think - its just letting the customer know that we will contact them back about telephone - or, if they have time when they call (and sales is open) I transfer them across. If they accept telephone, I get $10 in commission.

I don't like feeling bad. The doctor's office wants a sample on Saturday which I think is pointless. Then I need to get some blood pressure tests and come in on another visit. And on a separate visit my yearly physical. Its is more of an urgent care clinic than a doctor's office, so they cannot do it all at once. At least, I hope it isn't trying to milk me of all my insurance money.

Someone help me smile?

I am very achy - my neck stiff, my back spasming for no known reason I can determine. I haven't done any heavy lifting or any odd twisting! I was getting ready for bed when it struck. I have no idea if it is tied to heat/exhaustion from Saturday, reaction to the flea spray on my skin all day, to a kidney issue...sigh. I will soak and see if it helps. ow....howlll...

On the plus side, I now have a full sized refrigerator - the first time since Thanksgiving! Also, a washer (since April flooding we had been without one)- they called and woke me at 7 saying "the icemaker was missing, do we still want the fridge or to wait?" And, with my back hurting and going to bed with Nez at 3 (he was playing Magic until then with Ender). So, very little sleep.

But I have a fridge and a washer. Yay!

Yesterday we decided to go to the State Fair. Nez was hanging out over at a friends house the night before and asked me to wake him up so he could join us. He didn't wake up, so I got no time to hang out with him either :(

So, it ended up Foxwit and I. We wandered around the various exhibits - I loved the fantasy inspired quilts - there were a couple dragon and wizardly ones. I went to the Cave City booth and got some information for possible camping in Octoiber, should Awfulhorrid still be interested. I also went to the 4H area to get some honey candy - one of the suggestions I had in the past to boost my immune system was to eat local honey. That, and I like honey. I also got some maple candies from my brother and his girlfriend, all the way from vermont, so I am sorta candy-d out.

I got a bit overheated watching the tiger show out in the sun. I found out that it was 100 degrees plus whatever humidity. I am slightly sunburned on my arms and neck, and a little on my face. I tried to cool down, and had to sit inside, after I told him I was about to pass out. We got more water in me and then went home.

We were going to get an allergy shot for him but they weren't open, so we got drinks and went to Feeder Supply to deal with our horrible flea problem. All the cats are now dropped, we have spray and a lit up flea trap. I still think we are going to bomb the house but Foxwit and Nez don't think so.

Went to the D&D game and played. They were planning to start early yo go to a band, and during the game V. decided she didn't want to go anymore. I can only sit and game for a few hours - I get really tired after 6 hours, especially when 4th ed seems to be designed to kill you. Rather quickly at that - we lost two charaters during the game as it was to a ballista with multiple spikes launched at one time. We're 2nd level.

Sunday has been chores-
drive Foxwit to work across town
pick up laundry detergent and drinks
do laundry
take books to the library
mail package (apparently they aren't open on sunday - oops)
clean out car and wash car
clean basement/computer room/bedroom
fleaspray house/porch

sigh...busy busy

past few days update

Thursday, after nesting, I went with Researcher to Steak and Shake. I haven't been able to talk to him much, since our jobs and timetables have been so different. We chat occasionally here on LJ and he recently went on Facebook. I heard the news of his family, and his future plans. It was nice talking with him and we ended up talking for three hours :)

On Saturday we went to see Hellboy II. I have that stupid song stuck in my head now. No hidden spots in the credits, alas. I've gotten to the point of seeing if something is hidden there, after the ones that have been popping out lately.

Moved things out of the house- refridgerator that hasn't worked since Novemner. Washer that hasn't worked since April (I think). More flooded bookcases and chairs that were broken. Old clothes, ruined beyong repair.

Foxwit had his allergy shots yesterday and is miserable. Constantly coughing. They gave him a sstimulant pack in case he seems to be going into anaphalactic shock. I just hope this settles down soon. It alsmost as bed as when he went in with a cold.

Trying to get used to CB. When I can, I plan to stay on the 4th floor - more help that way.

My weekend before the week of 8-5. I know, most people's ideal schedule. Not mine. And not when learning a new position/job, with more responsibilities.

We discussed going up to Origins for the day and bring Nez home on Sunday. Foxwit didn't do well with the handling of this idea, and the less said the better. I don't like passive aggressive responses, and that was what I got. We still don't know how Nez is getting back. He said he could arrange it...

So, instead, we slept in and woke around 1ish. We went to go see Get Smart - it was cute, at least. We got some snacky things, even if they gave me the wrong cookie. Peanut butter is okay, white chocolate macadamia is much better. After this, we went to Oxmoor Mall where we discovered Sharper Image is going out of business. Most of the neat toys are still too expensive still. Sigh.

Afterward, we went up Shelbyville Rd into Middletown. Apparently there is a place called Renaissance Fun Park, that has lazer tag, go carts and 2 courses of mini golf. We opted for the mini golf ($7) (red course) which was fun. Foxwit beat me (as usual) but only by 2 or 3 points. He did have to get wet when he didn't ramp the ball right and it fell in the fairly fast stream (mine went fine over the ramp - heehee). We decided, at that point, that we needed food and went to Rocky's Italian Grill to eat. Yummy calamari and salad, baked ziti. No room for dessert - its usually appetizer or dessert for me, not both. And Foxwit wanted squidies :) We went over to Half Price books where I got some short story collections - I love those fantasy and scifi ones. Foxwit didn't see any books he currently wanted, though there were Rolemaster books, and a decent supply of gaming modules. No real graphic novels- a few marvels and a bunch of anime. We decided to skip the fireworks at Tom Sawyer, because Foxwit was winding down after eating - ah well. This is a lot more than we wusually do on our days off, and it was really nice.
