yesterday ws intersting. Japanese restaurant for lunch (yay white tuna and salmon sushi0 with hibachi. It is a Fuji on Dixie Highway. It isn't as good as the one across town but wasn'y bad. Had steak samurai.
Dinner was with Nez's mom at Queen of Sheba. I, of course, got my debek tips, lamb pieces seared in Ethiopian butter, and had their cardamon and clove spiced tea. Nez showed his mom I can has cheezburger site and she really liked it.
Interesting food day.
If only my teeth and ears didn't conspire to stab me. I took nyquil and applied ambesol. I think the main problem is the left ear. Took some more meds today and a really hot shower and washed my hair. I hope it helps. I think the teeth are hurting more because of the ear's sinus pressure.
I was supposed to sleep upstairs with Nez but gave up after getting up 4 times to heat a cloth with hot water to put on my ear. Sigh.
Food - yay ear/teeth boo
ah well. Happy stomach at the least :)

The Omnivore's Hundred
The Omnivore's Hundred is an eclectic and entirely subjective list of 100 items that Andrew Wheeler, co-author of the British food blog Very Good Taste, thinks every omnivore should try at least once in his life.
He offered this list as the starting point for a game, along the following rules:
1. Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2. Bold all the items you’ve eaten (tried)
3. Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
1. Venison <3
2. Nettle tea
3. Huevos rancheros
4. Steak tartare
5. Crocodile alligator should be close enough

Saturday, as our vacation progressed, we had made plans to go to the Newport Aquarium, across the river from Cincinnati. We had invited V and D, but due to financial considerations (and possibly early hours) they declined. I got up around 9:30 after a few hours of sleep - Nezmaster decided we should go see Indiana Jones at midnight the night before. The daystar, it burns...Neat movie - much better than Speed Racer. I loved the snake :) but that's the only teaser about the movie from me :)
So we drive to the aquarium. Foxwit is snoozing in the back seat and I am fighting to stay awake. I see a deer in the woods as we drive. Nez said I was asleep about 20 minutes, though I seriously doubt it was that long, if I was. He said I snored :). We got to the Aquarium, and discover it is in a mini mall of sorts. I buy cotton candy for later eating, which I had to check in at the counter -I might feed it to animals. Sigh. A chit, for cotton candy... ah well. It was their grand opening for their Frog Bog. It was pretty crowded, but bearable by far. I got a lot of cool pictures, though I did got from over 200 down to 100 pictures.

I petted sharks, fed lorikeets (and was bitten pretty hard by one), looked at jellies, and birds, frogs, sharks, snakes, and skates. Foxwit bought plushies - I got a baby harp seal, Nez got a shark and Foxwit got a rust and orange turtle. We looked around at the food choices and it was decided that the only place we agreed on we could eat here in Louisville (Mitchell's Fish Market). So, Nez decided to cross the river to Cincinnati- which we went the wrong way. My batteries had died in my camera at this point so I couldn't take any pictures of the neat signs. There was one that said "No loud music", but my favorite was "Licking Valley Counseling Center". So, we turn around and cross the bright yellow bridge. As we are looking around for a good place to eat, we notice that roads are blocked off and policemen are flagging people around. Well, we get turned around and Nez decided that we need to see what this event is - since we weren't on any timetable. And a lot of the restaurants were closed for Memorial Day...so we thought. We park on 4th and Walnut and go up a block... to Taste of Cincinnati, several blocks of food festival. MMM. We ended up with an ear of corn, a bbq sandwich, rice pudding, a Indian pastry with potatoes and peas in a spicy sauce, lemonade, a french crepe with chicken marsala, potato pancake, cinnamon roasted almonds, drunken monkey (that was Nez), fried sauerkraut balls, cream puff, pork bites..mostly we got bits and shared them. Everything was yummy. This was really a great way to end the museum portion, though sushi would have been nice. The closest I saw was a spicy ca roll, and I saw yummier things. mmmmmm.... after this, we went home, where I read a book and dozed off.

I am thankful for my family and friends.
I am thankful for my loves, who look out for me when I falter and fall.
I am thankful for my kitties and all the purrs and love they have given me over the years
I am thankful for a roof over my head and my health, my job and my car.
For these things and more, I am thankful.
I ended up not working Thanksgiving, so had to improvise for food. The big fridge is dead. So we are using the little one in the basement right now. Foxwit and I picked up a duck, herbs, and oranges and juice for the traditional bird. Three potatoes, salad and salad dressing. Asparagus. Bread, with dipping sauce and pumpkin pie. I also picked up a tin of popcorn for snacking. This will be our Thanksgiving dinner. The duck looks like it will be ...interesting. The herbs are a clove of garlic, tarragon, marjorum, and cilantro. Fresh oranges and concentrated orange juice also are being added.
Happy Thanksgiving, my lj friends and family. May there be light and love for you this holiday season.

Please post a recipe and it should preferably
be something quick, easy, without rare ingredients. Actually, the best is
the one you know in your head, and can type out and send right now. And/or
any fabulous recipe that you use that people are always asking you for :)
If you cannot do this within 5 days, please let me know so it will be fair
to those participating.
It is fun to see where these recipes come from! Seldom does anyone drop out
because we can all use new recipes! The turn around is fast because only 2
names are on the list .
This was an email I recieved. I would love some good, easy to make recipes, if anyone will oblige me.
Here's one to begin with
My dad's NY style BBQ chicken
Beat 4-6 eggs
add 2 cups vinegar to one cup oil
1 Tablespoon salt
1 Tablespoon pepper
1 Tablespoon Poultry seasoning
shot of Jack Daniels or Bourbon (optional)
chicken (your grilling preference)
Marinate chicken overnight. Grill until done
Yummy!

Today wasn't too bad. Went to Bowman Field to renew permit. Set up appt for 1-:30am nect friday for driving test, since that was the next day open. I woke Nez up because I needed a ride to go there and they won't let me take the driver's test with a expired permit. I guess I'll work in some more parallel parking practice.
Went to eat sushi with Nez and Koddiechan. Foxwit ate soup and potstickers. I got the lunch special and the sunset roll. I like salmon :)
Afterward had Koddiechan's Star Wars game. I had fun - we're still working on getting our roles in place. Apparently my character is going to be first mate. I made a comment where I did not know all the details and was trying to say something other than what came out as a joke and upset some people. I'm sorry. It came out completely wrong, and now I cannot remember how it was supposed to come out.
I'm just not socially ept at some times, and felt bad.
Went to IHOP and got breakfast food. Apparently they are 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Wrote this entry and am headed for bed.

I would like to hang out with people and I have off Friday and Saturday. I thought that sushi sounded yummy, and wanted to see if I can find some people to hang out and spend time with. I like the raw fishies and haven't had much of a social life due to many things beyond my control.
I do NOT want you to say I'm being Dramatic, Koddie.
Due to this, I would like to just hang out, get to know people better, if at all possible. I have been feeling lonely lately and I thought this might be a good idea...
Any takers?
I don't have a set time or place - the more the merrier though. I believe there is a going away party Nez wants me to attend for Blue, other than that I have no set plans.

Fot those who were curious, I got my pistachio pamesan crusted fish at Bonefish grill. It was so very yummy, and a good friend of mine recommended the place. I think she also recommended that particular dish :). They are a bit pricey - we spent around $50 but that included bang bang shrimp appetizer, bread with pesto dip/oil (very yummy plump shrimp in a slightly spicy sauce) two entrees (Foxwit got the salmon, grilled with spinich, feta cheese and a light marinade), and a macadamia raspberry brownie cake with ice cream - of which I brought most of that home to Nezmaster. And half my fish and Foxwit's too. Very very good service and food. Definitely a good place for dates :)
There wasn't any seats for a table, but they had almost a tavern style sitting area, which I liked as well.
Very nice place and really really good food.
