Despite all the darkness and sorrow, mud and rain. Despite the fireball today, I do have happy thoughts and I had them here. I will write more on this later.

Having Memorial Day weekend off was different. Nez went to Berea to visit his other sweetie, which left me and Foxwit here.

We decided on Thursday to go to Marcon. I worked Friday night, and the alarm was set for 5:45 am for the drive to Columbus. Morning...ick. Packed up, locked the door. I left a message on Nez's phone around 6:30 am that I locked the door, and that we would be back Monday. I got a call at 9, yelling at me for doing this, since he had no key. I did not feel comfortable leaving the house unlocked. I was also told by him he had no clue when he would be back. I told him we would be back Monday, and I thought that he might be able to stay with a friend until we got back on Monday afternoon. I guess I will need to make another set of keys, since the ones I had already made were lost.

We get there Saturday, and register at Red Roof. I was wearing a white shirt and a brown leather corset and jeans. Went over to the convention center, which is apparently under construction. A lot smaller than Origins. More costumes though :) Found the area to register in, get our badges, and began to wander. Went to the art show - they had 2 pair of pistol crossbow marshmallow shooters that I liked, but Foxwit said I could write a bid on Sunday. We discovered later that Sunday was pickup, not bid. Oh, well... Went to the dealer's room and found a cheap brown laceup tunic for Foxwit. After the dealers room (which I was woefully underdressed) Foxwit needed to go back to the room to get painkillers. I changed into my pendragon corset with orange butterflies and bat wings, orange patchwork skirt and orange underdress, and grabbed my bat walking stick. Oh, and jingly belt and my 2 tails (since my third one was stolen at a rennfaire last year).

I also discovered, over by the food court, that they were selling walking sticks like mine, but no bats. Apparently the dragon ones sold well as per the shopkeeper.

We decided on North Market for lunch - I was surprised how many Marcon attendees didn't know of it! Had barbecue, coleslaw, corncake(bread), and mini cannolis for dessert. And, out in the parking lot we discover.... Top Chef!

They were apparently on tour - Stephanie, winner from season 4 (I think) and Ariane from 5 (Coogs). So, I'm watching them set up and I hear from behind us, a voice asking why we were dressed up. The two chefs started chatting with us- I guess being bright orange, tailed and winged made me distinctive? So I explain about the Con, they both came in last night and hit the town. Stephanie apparently went to the Derby. They did a small cooking segment with a ceasar salad with shrimp, which everyone got a sample - had a leek relative (Ramps)and lots of garlic - yum!

Watched a Match game panel, and Order of the Phoenix in one of the rooms. Came back upstairs, and playtested a game called Baba Yaga. Afterward, I was talked into playing Paranoia, in a larp. All three goals - the computers, the CPU, and my secret society, matched. Only went through 3 clones. I was Red, of course. I apparently got the closing line, since the package was what we were supposed to deliver. IThe Team Leader was explaining that all the packages were with the robiots and being delivered. Then someone made the joke about their "package". Then I just repeated what the Team leader said, that anyone with a "package" was a robot (therefore I was not). Then the team leader also said to have the packages checked. My response was that I was not the Morale officer. Midnight to 3 am....

The next day, we went to the food court for lunch and got gyros. Ran into ladyariyana in a Silver Squirrel skirt, and chatted for a bit :) Crossed paths with sylverwolfe and Peterbeerslayer as well. I recognised a couple Conglom people as well, but didn't know their names. Ended up getting a small pair of fairy wings that had orange in them, a filkertom Fump CD, a barette and three scrunchies for my hair. The time I got to go in by myself was 3 minutes to close....sigh. Was weaaring white shirt, brown corset and patchwork shirt and tails at this time. I kept my bat stick nearby, because I needed it all weekend. Knee and feet issues. Food was breakfast at the hotel and a little hummus at noon

Games on sunday: Shadows over Camelot. No traitors, since most were new players. Then, at 3 pm, they decided to play a "short" game of Arkham Horror. The hotel made us move at 10:00 pm - we would have won in the next 20 minutes. We had people leave so I had two characters to play, and there was a guy there that was slow to decide what he was doing, and whether it was his turn. 7 hours without food, I have discovered, is bad for me. My body temperature dropped. Keep in mind, I am wearing a leather corset, several yards of skirt, 3/4 sleeve length shirt, and actually had on jean capris under the skirt for leg protection. I've not had that happen before.

Ended up having to get room service, because nothing was open now - food court on sunday, max and ermas... so spent 50 on chicken catchettori, salad, mushrooms, and an order of cheesecake bites. I needed the food though. Drove for home on Monday.

Monday, I get a call as we are leaving Columbus - can I pick Nez up in Cincinnati? Since it was part of the route, I said okay. We end up meeting at the Florence Y'all (Mall) and I say hello to Sandy, who has her son with her. She was picking him up from his father. We chat for aboput 5 minutes, Nez gets his stuff, tells us to go in the mall, and he will meet us there. We end up doing a little wandering and get food for lunch, and head home. Nez goes upstairs to sleep, and Foxwit and I are restless, so pick up some books and some stuff to grill. I amke steak, grilled veggie poiuches, and Foxwit bakes some bread in the oven. And marshmallows...mmmm.

So that was my weekend. Waiting on pictures, until I get my card from the bank, so I can post on Flickr

Just really tired and feeling like I am doing everything wrong right now. Trying to plan the future. Struggling at work.

Despite the costumy thing at work, I'm just low. Tomorrow is the team meeting. I need to speak to my sup before my shift anyway about one of my contracts thats a bit odd. One of mine came back looking like I was trying to take credit for someone elses contract. I sent up a case to have that looked into and cancelled my contract. One of my talk telephones says there was no one by that name working there. But I got her name for the notes. Sigh.

I'm just hoping I'm not setting myself up to be fired. I have trouble meeting the time goal, and am really struggling with the sales this month.

I see the listings for Origins asking "Are you going to be there?" and I get no straight answers out of the guys. I've planned some time off for March, but don't know where that is going - Foxwit's birthday is that Tuesday, and I had mentioned it before making plans.Sigh.

I dunno.

There was a drug bust or arrest out fromt of the house this morning. They caught the guy trying to run out the back.

Just so tired, mentally, spiritually, physically. And winter has barely begun...

Friday - get up around 6 am to get ride with the wonderful Dubheach, Barwench, and A to head for the elusive covention of Atlanta - DragonCon! Took a few breaks for gas and such - the one gas station I was amused (horrified) to see locking out devices for sale (to break back in to your car). The second rest stop had cows ---moo! We get to Dragon and I get out to find my roommates - Faefall, Darkheartpixie, Rincewind (since I don't know his LJ) and his sister. There was a sixth, but unfortunately I don't remember his name. I set up floor, and change to my first outfit. I then stand in line for over an hour to get my badge. I run over to the mall (connected by habitrail) and decide to explore a little the convention after my gyro wrap. I saw lots and lots of costumes and was taking pictures. I also picked up "I can has FUMP?" while I was there.

Just got back from Conglom today and I have a room, if I need it for Dragon :bouncy bouncy bouncy::

I got to hang around Filkertom for both his concerts, and of course was blown away :). I need to figure out how to keep track of my albums - he half seriously considered making a baseball like card checklist so we could mark each one off :) It might work...

I was Kitsune-ish all con. Two tails every day. I got a decent amount of photos taken with my orange outfit, with the copper jinglebells - I think that skirt is one of the best things i have ever bought! I ran into the Pirate/Rogue/Wench crew and hung around them for awhile. There were four Silver Squirrel skirts through the day - Razzle had the multicolor, I had the orange, Lucy had the red, and her mom (I think) had the indigo overdye. They really are the neatest skirts. Expensive, but really really neat.

I bought a dice swordcane for Foxwit . It has a bone oversized d20 as its pommel, with a small chamber that has small dice in it, as well as the obligatiory sword. I got a few ceramic magnets for Nezmaster- two cats, and two bunnies. A couple light up necklaces for me and a photoshopped picture - if I knew that I could have gotten of one for free I probably wouldn't have done it, but oh well. It is very orange. I also had henna done to both arms - he was charging a dollar a minute - I spent less than 20 bucks and had foxes on both arms, plus other detail work, and a sun for one side and a moon for the other.

I got to see Sylverwolfe, Gypsy1969, Roina_Arwen and Darkheartpixie whom I rarely see. And several others who either have no lj name or I don't remember. Of course Poolsharkone & Pyrodocs were there as well as Darkwolf69 & Sydb42 . Darkheartpixie has a lead for a room for me :)

Foxwit did the larp and was a Nosferatu, and hung out playing games in the game room. I demoed Fluxx a few times and gave out my stock of promo cards. I need to get more. I never got the party promos, maybe I will get them the next time :). I also demoed Chrononauts, and Treehouse a few times and chatted with people playing Aquarius. Played a little Munchkin, and also entered the Frogger LARP. That was fun.

Watched the masquerade and lots of concert :) My favorite part. I love music. Also attended the midnight Rocky show and went to the Hobbit Hole party with Razzle . I like their lemonade - I think she liked the dragon's brew?fire?

I got a few email addresses and will try to keep better track of them from now on :) We shall see...

And Dubheach was a watery tart - apparently someone stole her sword :) The munchkins were Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn - they were so cute. :)

I haven't had many comments lately, so I added that in


I went to the Renaissance Faire in Eminence on Saturday. I wore my black leather bodice, a black skirt and a white chemise. I was looking for bodices, but was too large for the ones I was interested in :( I did end up getting another fox tail, a moonstone slave bracelet, a fox mask (gee, I wonder where Dubheach :) ), a necklace with something called rainbow aura (apparently titanium/gold plating on quartz - really pretty), and a patchwork skirt. Orange to be exact. Foxwit talked me into it. (I'm wearing it tomorrow).

I ran into Pyrodocs and a couple people - Celtic Cleric and his wife. Went to the joust and watched part of the mudmen, and Woode, the minstrel. It was very hot, and ended up drinking lots of water as well. Got a fruit and cheese plate, which really hit the spot in the heat - especially the pineapples and grapes. Yummy! I did put on sunblock before going out so am not patchwork white and red - yay! Also got some sugared almonds - those things are so very very addicting.

Mostly wandered around the fairie forest and in the shade - very very hot.

Past two days have been hectic with my new class. I was spoiled a bit from the TTM first wave, as I feared. First, the room was locked. Got that resolved. Second, no headphones were left for the class- we scavenged 28 pairs- some damaged. Then there were only three nesting coaches- I was filling in for the one missing in my pod, so had 11 people to take care of. And 6 hands usually went up at a time. The soft phones do not work - another issue. I have taken 4 ceps so far in the past two days. We're trying to work in a 4th coach, but his schedule was different than ours today. The nesters should be in new hire in Aspect, our schedule program - they aren't. Also, I am supposed to be doing 12 one on ones with my team, as well as answering questions - this week.


Arrrgh! I hope this is the worst batch I get - I am not referring to the nesters. I'm referring to the gremlins that seem to be causing chaos. For the most part, I haven't had any real issues with them (my nesters and the rest of the teams). The've been polite and haven't run screaming from me yet. I have decorated computers - so far with my little ponies, smurfs, hello kitty, ortho (he man) and Alf. I sometimes even warn them when they're walking away. I need to come up with something horrendous to put up :D

So, that's what I have been up to. I understand people were in town, but didn't find out until after the fact so couldn't see them :(. Then again, I don't get much information nowdays due to conflicts that are outside of my scope, but always leave me flopping around like a fish out of water. Flip...flip...flip.

It isn't fair. Just because someone is my friend or lover shouldn't mean avoid me like the plague. I am not contagious.

It looks like I will be going to FOG - Festival of Games. I'm planning to be a Demo Rabbit for at least Fluxx and Aquarius. I will be carrying Just Desserts, NanoFic, Chrononauts, and Stoner Fluxx. Oh yeah, and Werewolf. I just wasn't sure how to schedule them, since I plan to work off my pass. We'll probably have to catch buses out there. I haven't scheduled evenings for either, due to possible LARP problems. I probably will be demoing them, just not at scheduled times. I don't own Zendo, so I cannot demo that. Sigh.


Yes, I'm up this late. Was writing up descriptions of the games Nez will be demoing and the ones I will. I could sorta cheat - go to the Looney Labs site for their descriptions.

Can't really sleep. I hate insomnia :P

Went to a dinner in Germantown - was disappointed. Greasy porkchop, vinegary saurkraut, instant potatoes and store bought apple pie with toothpick American flags. They even had comics, though I didn't appreciate them. We left in the middle of their key speaker's act. I don't really find fat people humor that funny. Mainly, since I do see myself that way. Greenpeace...whales...anorexic jokes....no.

It still was nice, because I was with Nez. We came home and watched "Hello, Dolly" since I had never seen it before. I liked it. I also appreciated the fact that Dolly was my size, though maybe a bit smaller. We snuggled and were purrounded by cats. I love being purr-ounded. We tried to go to sleep, but failed. Therefore, we're still up. I hope I get sleepy soon.

Foxwit will probably be awake soon so he can go to work. He let us borrow the car after he got home from work. I love my husband, even if he gets grumpy. I think we are supposed to have a LARP tonight, but last time it was a dud. We were the only ones to show. I assume we're meeting at IUS since we haven't heard otherwise.

We did stay at home - we didn't have a con suite, so we went home, usually around 2 - that is, nezmaster and I. I got to meet a bunch of people, who, some, I still have no real clue what their mundane names are. Oh, well. That's pretty normal.

I had a lot of fun. I know I'm forgetting to add a lot. I love wandering in costume. I got people asking about my pin, and getting pictures taken.

I think I really like being a Wench. The people I met were really cool and a lot of fun to be around. I'm glad I joined - even if it cost me $47 instead of $44 - who knows?

I'm hoping I can go to the Ohio Renaissance faire at some time. I need to see i any of my friends (hint, hint) might be interested. I know we have until Aug 24th for group rate)
